About
Eleonora Piromalli (Rome, 1984) graduated in 2008 from the Faculty of Philosophy of the University La Sapienza (degree in Philosophy and Theoretical-Critical Studies). Her thesis, in Political Philosophy, was "Amore, eguaglianza, realizzazione: il paradigma del riconoscimento di Axel Honneth" ("Love, equality, achievement: Axel Honneth's recognition theory"), supervisor: prof. S. Petrucciani; assistant supervisor: prof. V. Marzocchi. The thesis was awarded the Gioele Solari prize by the University of Turin in 2009. Since 2008 she is a Ph.D. student in Philosophy at the "Dipartimento di Filosofia" of La Sapienza (Curriculum B: Practical Philosophy), and since 2010 she is fellow of the SIFP, the Italian Society for Political Philosophy. Research interests: recognition, critical theory and Frankfurt School, Marxism, Hegel and Hegelianism, theories of democracy, German philosophical anthropology, cultural studies and social history. For some years now, she has been translating philosophical writings from English, German and French into italian (among others, works by Th. W. Adorno, J. Bidet, A. Honneth, Th. Pogge).
